We have to agree that Virtual Reality is very popular now. In the near future, products such as Oculus Rift, HTC Vive or Microsoft’s HoloLens will get cheaper and more users will be able to afford them. As a result, users will look for various software products to save their VR data.

The good news is that there is already a free backup application for Windows that allows you to safely backup your virtual reality data.

VrBackupper takes care of your VR data

VrBackupper is a free software for the Windows OS developed especially for the Oculus Rift VR headset. The application allows you to move the Oculus installation files to another location, or back up/restore the Oculus installation directory.

VrBackuper was first named “Oculus Backupper”, but its developers had to change the name because it had “Oculus” in it.  They could have got in trouble with the company that created the virtual reality headset. The good news is VrBackuper can also be used as a universal virtual reality backup solution.

The application comes with an intuitive interface and automatically detects your Oculus directory. In the main page, you will see two options to either migrate or backup/restore your data. If you select migrate, all you’ll have to do is select the Oculus installation on the computer. The backup/restore feature works the same and allows you to backup/restore the entire Oculus installation directory or only your apps and games.

However, it seems that sometimes, the application fails to detect the Oculus installation directory. Unfortunately, you will not see any option to set the directory manually, which means that if this happens, you will NOT be able to use this application at all.

The migration feature is very useful when you run out of space on the hard drive you installed Oculus on. This way, you will be able to move it to another hard drive where you have a good amount of free space.

You can download Backupper for free from Aomeitech.
