This edition brings many Hyper-V virtualization functionalities, and it does not include any non-virtualization features.

According to Microsoft, Hyper-V Server 2019 helps users to manage their workloads. They can take advantage of the new features to improve performance.

Microsoft released Windows Server 2019 on Oct. 2, 2018. Hyper-V Server 2019 was expected to be released at around the same time due to its association with Windows Server.

However, it has been delayed for more than eight months. As a matter of fact, there were multiple problems that were responsible for the delay. A bug affected installation media and some issues were noticed related to Remote Desktop Protocol.

Apparently, some Windows users have doubts about the quality of the recent version due to the delayed release.

Reddit users discussed the importance of Hyper-V Server 2019.

I’m shocked, shocked I tell you!Honestly, after nearly 9 months of MS being unable to release this, and two months after they said the only thing holding it back were “problems with the media”, I’m not sure I would trust this edition. They have yet to fully explain what it is that held it back all these months after every othher Server 2019 edition was in production.

Microsoft recommends IT admins and developers that they should uninstall the original version of Hyper-V Server 2019. They can now install the latest version available via the Microsoft Evaluation Center.

Nice. Our Hyper-V Servers 2012 R2 have been rock-solid for the last few years, the 2019 would be the next in line for production, if proven stable.
