A few days ago, we have given a short review to the unofficial Yahoo! Messenger app for Windows 8 users. And now, it’s time to talk about some important updates that it had received.
The Yahoo! Messenger app for Windows 8 is still on the Windows Store, despite its exact name as the official app could look like. And while there are many complaints, especially with regards to the looks of this app, as of now, it remains the single one in the Windows Store that will let you talk with your friends from your Yahoo! profile, if you are still using one.

Update – it’s now gone!
I was just getting ready to talk about the latest updates that they app has received and it appears that the app has been completely removed from the Windows Store! It is nowhere to be found and when accessing the old link, all we get is “Sorry, this app is no longer available”. Of course, this is bad for those who have been using the app on their Windows 8 tablets, but for the sake of the quality of apps in the Windows Store, this is a step forward. Well done, Microsoft!
