And, if the wait wasn’t long enough already, developers recently announced another delay, which will surely test the patience of even the most resilient gamer.

CD Projekt Red made it known that an upgraded and enhanced version of its hugely popular fantasy RPG didn’t even have a new release window, leaving many concerned.

The story has now changed and we can all rejoice in knowing that this version of the beloved triple-A title is right around the corner.

We have decided to have our in-house development team conduct the remaining work on the next-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. We are currently evaluating the scope of work to be done and thus have to postpone Q2 release until further notice. 1/2

Witcher 3 The Wild Hunt announced for December 14, 2022

Many fans were eagerly waiting to relive all the adventures that Geralt of Rivia engaged in while playing The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt.

Seeing cities such as Beauclair, Oxenfurt, or Novigrad in the new resolution, with all the new graphics tweaks, is surely a treat for all fans.

However, all the anticipation that lead us to this moment simply dissipated, as developers dropped the ball on this major project.

By reading this statement, one would understand that CD Projekt Red entrusted the process to someone else while working on the next Witcher game, and it all went downhill from there.

We have decided to have our in-house development team conduct the remaining work on the next-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The company responsible for the Witcher game franchise was taking matters into its own hands and trying to deliver as soon as it can.

Now, two years after the original announcement and multiple delays, the next-gen enhanced version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is almost here.

CD Projekt RED has just shared details on the project’s features as well as gameplay footage for the first time.

CD Projekt Red is now touting ray-traced global illumination support across all current-gen platforms with this update.

Some of the other graphical additions include screen space reflections, dynamic resolution scaling, as well as texture and foliage upgrades.

For console players, quality and performance modes (60 FPS) are being introduced, while PlayStation 5 players will be happy to know that haptic feedback and adaptive triggers support is incoming.

Some PC issues are hard to tackle, especially when it comes to corrupted repositories or missing Windows files. If you are having troubles fixing an error, your system may be partially broken. The game will also feature Netflix show-inspired content that includes a new mission and its recognizable Nilfgaardian armor.

We can pause during cutscenes, we get HUD customization, a photo mode, a new camera, and even features from popular mods on PC.

Also, cloud-based cross-save support across all platforms is here too, allowing players to pick up the adventure where they left off from PC, Xbox Series X|S, or PlayStation 5.

Everyone who already owns the current versions of the game is getting the upgraded content for free, and CD Projekt will be releasing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition as well.

The complete edition will contain the base experience plus all post-launch content, from the free DLC to the story expansions – Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine.

Only a digital release for the beloved title will be available at first, with a physical edition coming at a later, yet unknown date.

This last-generation version still available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch aren’t being completely left behind either.

CD Projekt Red said that it plans to bring gameplay improvements and the Netflix show-themed add-ons to these platforms later.

People were actually expecting companies like Activision Blizzard to postpone games after huge blunders, not CD Projekt Red.

But, after the Cyberpunk 2077 disaster, pretty much everything is possible. There’s not much to do except wait for the games to become available.

Please keep in mind that the studio is also working on remaking The Witcher (2007) using Unreal Engine 5, and also on the new Witcher game saga.
