The Night Light feature is one of the many apps Windows 10 users looked forward to with the rollout of the Creators Update. Night owls are eager to get the new feature as it helps reduce the amount of blue light irritating the eyes due to prolonged exposure to the screen
You can enable Night Light through a new button in the Action Center after installing the Creators Update. However, some users are reporting that this setting does not work properly. One user called attention to the issue over at Microsoft’s Community page:
The user went on to explain that the issue persists in the morning when his screen retains the orange tint after booting up his PC past sunrise. The user laments that he has to turn the feature off manually, running counter to Microsoft’s claim of automatic functionality,
I was really looking forward to using the Night Light feature with the Windows 10 Creators Update, for I tend to work late into the night and like the reduced eye strain that Night Light would bring. I liked how Microsoft implemented the sunset-to-sunrise functionality as well, so that it would work the moment it became dark and turn off the moment it became light again.
However, I’ve run into issues with this scheduled Night Light. Sometimes, Night Light just won’t turn on. Once the sun has set, the settings app says that Night Light is on, but I still don’t see any changes to my display. Is this a bug, or is it because it is implemented in a way that it gradually changes screen temperature instead of instantly?
