The current state of the Windows Phone is a sorry one with Microsoft demonstrating a lackluster attitude towards its own operating system, making it seem like Windows 10 Mobile is just one step away from being discontinued.

Enjoy the silence

Microsoft’s silence on the subject is also pretty scary and anything asked of the company is always met with unclear answers. Thankfully, there’s still one official source which mentions Windows 10 Mobile.

Windows 10 Mobile is not dead, tweets LeBlanc

The Senior Program Manager in the Windows Insider Program Team sometimes answers queries posted by frustrated users and Insiders. His tweets say that Windows 10 Mobile is not dead, but is certainly not meant for consumers.

No new features coming our way via the Fall Creators Update for Mobile

On the other hand, Microsoft will host another Bug Bash for Insiders through the Feedback Hub app, a game in which quests are posted in the Feedback Hub. Each quest requires the Insider to test a feature of the OS for bugs.

The new features for PC involve exciting things, but for the Mobile the situation looks quite dull. The Bug Bash from July is supposed to be the last one before the Fall Creators Update comes to Windows 10.

Long story short, it seems that we won’t be getting any new features with the Fall Creators Update for Mobile. The OS will remain starved of the new treats introduced in the RS3 branch for Windows 10.

Windows 10 Mobile actually looks dead despite everything that Microsoft has to say. Maybe it will be revived next year but until then, who knows how many users will still be running the OS.
