To be able to use the app, of course, you will need to have an account. With a free account, which means a non-subscriber profile, you will be able to read only the editor’s picks from a certain issue of the newspaper. You can also explore back issues of The Economist, with the first one being from June 2012. I’ve discovered that past issues have more free articles that you can enjoy and they look really bright on a Windows 8 tablet’s display.
