Devices in TECNO’s Camon series of smartphones are synonymous with stellar camera performance. And of course, they also carry the company’s tradition of offering great smartphones at pretty decent prices.

The latest iteration of the same is the TECNO Camon 16 line of smartphones. These include the TECNO Camon 16 Premier, the TECNO Camon 16 Pro, and the recently-announced TECNO Camon 16s.

These devices, as expected, offer pretty decent value for money. Let’s have a look at their individual specs and how all three members of the TECNO Camon 16 family devices compare.

TECNO Camon 16 Premier

The Camon 16 Premier is the big daddy of them all. The TECNO Camon 16 Premier runs on the Mediatek Helio G90T and couples that with 8GB of RAM and a colossal 128GB of internal storage.

It is powered by a 4500mAh battery that charges rapidly up to 33W. On the display front, this was TECNO’s first 90Hz display panel and it spans across 6.9 inches.

There’s a quad-camera array on the rear with the following configuration: 64MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP for the Main, Wide, Macro, and Depth sensors respectively.

If you’re willing to splurge, this is the device to get. In Kenya, the TECNO Camon 16 Premier starts at Ksh 27,999 on Jumia Kenya.

TECNO Camon 16 Pro

The Camon 16 Pro is almost similar to the Premier model. It is powered by the equally-capable Mediatek G70 chip mated to 6GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage.

Like the Camon 16 Premier, it comes with a decently-sized 5,000mAh battery cell and the same camera configuration.

The Tecno Camon 16 Pro retails for around KSh 20,999 on Jumia Kenya. We’re expecting a few Black Friday deals so you might want to keep an eye on our Jumia Black Friday coverage.

TECNO Camon 16s

See, Ksh 22,000 is a bit much for some users. That’s where the Camon 16s comes in.

This newly launched device retails for around Ksh 16,100 and packs a quad-camera setup on the rear configured as follows: a 48 MP main sensor, 2MP depth sensor, a 2MP macro, and an AI Camera.

Selfie lovers are also catered for with a punch-hole 8MP AI selfie camera. Powering the package is the lesser-capable Mediatek Helio P35 chip, juiced by a massive 5,000 mAh.

This device spots a 6.6” HD+ Dot-in display with a 720×1600 resolution.

Below is a tabulated summary of how these three TECNO Camon 16 devices compare.

Conclusion

The Camon 16 Premier is the most superior member of this family of devices. It has a Full HD display and 90Hz, it is powered by the most powerful chip of the bunch and has 33W fast charging.

The Premier also has a dual front-facing camera setup. Camon 16 Premier has USB Type-C while the others use MicroUSB to charge their 5000mAh batteries with no mention of fast charging.

All of these devices offer decent value for money with the Camon 16 Premier being the most capable all-round. The Camon 16 Pro is next in line while the Camon 16s the least capable of the bunch.
