Microsoft officially announced that the leading company in cybersecurity, Symantec Corp, will be utilizing Microsoft Azure as a means to deliver their Norton products to about 50 million clients. This move is part of Symantec’s long-term strategy to “significantly increase efficiency in operations” and “hybrid cloud plans”.

Why the move to Azure?

With the new initiative, Symantec is hoping to significantly reduce operational costs while offer cybersecurity to more customers.

In addition, Microsoft’s and Symantec cooperation has led to the development of new digital safety capabilities and other cloud services for Microsoft Azure. Advanced threat protection and security telemetry are some of the many new features that have been added to Azure.

The partnership between Microsoft and Symantec showcases their dedication to providing high-quality cybersecurity for their clients. It also demonstrates Microsoft Azure’s ability to handle perhaps the most demanding and largest cloud service in the entire world.

In the near future, both companies will continue to work together to bring Symantec’s e-commerce system to the cloud computing service, Azure. Eventually, the system will be improved so that clients will find it easier to use and purchase Norton security software.

Also, it is speculated that Symantec will be using the Microsoft Cloud service for various services related to internal information. These services include machine learning, Azure Container Services, and more.
