Stop Twitter Videos From Autoplaying When On The Web
- Log in to your Twitter account.
- Click on your profile picture at the top right corner of the Twitter page.
- A drop-down menu will appear, click on Settings and Privacy.
- You will be redirected to the Settings page, navigate to Content and under Video Tweets, uncheck the box “Video AutoPlay”.
- Click on Save changes
- It will prompt for your Twitter account password and then click on Save Changes again.
Now videos won’t play until you click on them.
Stop Twitter Videos From Autoplaying When On iPhone
While on the Twitter app on your iPhone, the steps could be a bit different.
- Open Twitter app.
- Locate “Me” at the bottom of the page.
- Tap on the Settings icon.
- A pop-up menu will come up.
- Select Settings and Privacy.
- From General, select Data Usage.
- Under Data Usage-> Video-> tap on Video Autoplay
- Video Autoplay has three options – Mobile data & Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi only and Never.
- Select Never.
- And then go back and click on Done.
Now the videos will play when you tap on them.
Stop Twitter Videos From Autoplaying When On Android
While on the Twitter app on your Android, the initial steps could be a bit different.
- Open Twitter app.
- Click on your profile picture.
- From the menu, select Settings and Privacy.
- From General, select Data Usage.
- Under Data Usage-> Video-> tap on Video Autoplay
- Video Autoplay has three options – Mobile data & Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi only and Never.
- Select Never.
- Now the videos will only play if you click on them.
Stop Facebook Videos From Autoplaying
Log in to your Facebook account.
Click on the downward arrow located at the right of the blue menu bar on the top of the screen.
Select Settings from the drop-down menu.
On the settings page, click on Video from the list of options on the left-hand side.
Set the “Auto-Play Videos” drop-down menu to Off.
Stop Facebook Videos From Autoplaying on iPhone
- Open the Facebook app
- Tap More
- Scroll down and tap Settings > Account Settings
- Tap Videos and Photos > Autoplay
- Choose Never Autoplay to disable the feature.
