Google alerts make it possible to keep tabs on things on the internet which fancies you. Let’s say you want to put alerts on new Windows update, so whenever an update is launched or any changes are added, you will get an alert on your Gmail and that’s why you don’t miss out on anything related to your chosen topic.

Also, it helps you to curb your time spent on social media You can also cut down the time spent on social media and various news websites by setting up Google alerts, and here is how you do it.

How to Create Google Alerts?

Note: You can perform these steps on your mobile or laptop to create Google alerts.

  1. Go to Google Alerts page on your browser.

  2. Type the topic that you want to get alerts for in the search box.

  3. To refine the alert, click Show Options.

  4. Check out all the options to customize alerts as per your preferences. Once you have selected the preferences, click Create Alert button.

 

Now you will receive alerts related to a certain topic.

Also, you can set the delivery time of the alert. For that, you can click the Settings icon(gear-like) and select the delivery time.

You can also set to get all the alerts in one single email by clicking Digest. Once done, click the Save button to save these settings.

You can delete or edit to customize alerts by clicking on trash or pencil icon respectively, located beside your alert.

Isn’t it easy? With these settings, you can now get all the alerts related to your favorite topics. The topics can be related to a natural calamity or your favorite celebrity, TV Shows, places to visit or gadgets that you like. It could be anything. Also, you can also limit the content and delivery time of the content.
