Snapdragon 845 Always Connected Windows 10 On Arm Pcs Are Here

ARM-powered Always Connected PCs are already on the verge of being forgotten and left aside. They hit the markets slightly later that when expected and they were not even received very well due to various performance issues, despite the users’ enthusiasm.

Now, all eyes are on the new Qualcomm which was created to offer lots of new features and an upgrade to the processor which will definitely place the Snapdragon 835-powered systems in the back of users’ memory.

Significant performance improvements

The latest benchmarks have been released on GeekBench for Windows 10 on ARM test systems for Qualcomm and Lenovo. These are powered by the Snapdragon 845 processor that is able to offer massively improved performance.

The Snapdragon 845 processor comes with eight cores, and it runs at almost 3 GHz, and overall they seem to provide about 25% more performance and up to 50% higher performance on a single core in comparison with the Windows systems running on the Snapdragon 835 CPU.

Availability and pricing

There are a lot of Windows 10 on ARM laptops and tablets which will hit the market this month, and it’s not very clear when the next generation is set to arrive. One guess could very well be June’s Computex. Qualcomm itself stated that the devices would become available by the end of this year. In other words, unless OEMs offer some impressive price cuts, it would not be too recommended to purchase a first gen device at the moment.

The improved performance of the new CPUs should also support better x86 emulation, and this is another benefit that will come along with these systems. Potential pricing details are not known at the moment, but as soon as we learn anything new, we’ll let you know as well.
