Skype Uwp App Updated With New Features And Improved Design

Microsoft released a new updated for its Skype UWP app. The update and the app overall is only available for computers running Windows 10 and users who are part of the Insider Preview program.

From what we have come to understand, the new update brings Group Video & Audio Calls along with Group Chats to the forefront. These new features have been a part of the regular version of Skype for years, so it is great to see them now being a central part of the UWP app.

Outside of the new features, Microsoft made sure to improve the user interface. This can be seen from the image above, though note the improvement isn’t significant. Furthermore, it is now possible to add a contact or group as a favorite for them to show up at the top at all times.

The most important aspect of this report is the announcement of the Windows 10 Mobile version of the Skype UWP app. While it isn’t yet ready, Microsoft said it should be ready soon — whenever that is.

To get the new update, just open the Windows Store and click on the Check for Updates button.
